However, his assertion that Canadian farmers are faced with mounting bills and declining yields as a result of growing GM crops is incorrect.

A 2001 report commissioned by the Canola Council of Canada indicates that the introduction of biotechnology-derived canola (oilseed rape) varieties has benefited growers.
