Focus energy on real holocausts

IT would perhaps be better to avoid the publication of articles that give rise to fanciful notions of "silent holocausts" held by Fr McCarthy (Irish Examiner, July 15) and the rest of the "Walter Mitty" wing of the Catholic Church.

But to add to his developing knowledge of the subject, it might interest Fr McCarthy to know that the majority of fertilised ova (“conceived babies”) are shed naturally by women during their reproductive lives, without the aid of the pill and without them ever knowing they had “conceived”, a kind of natural “silent holocaust” if he likes.

As a Catholic, I regret the re-affirmation of this ill-conceived (pardon the pun) doctrine on contraception and would greatly welcome its re-evaluation and disposal.
