Bleak outlook

IS THERE any such thing as personal responsibility any more? In the compo culture we live in, no-one seems responsible for his/her actions.

Penalty points, the smoking ban, drink restrictions and compensation claims give our children no sense of responsibility.

We should be educating them to understand the dangers inherent in life and then healthily to make their own decisions.

Michael Martin’s only successes are those which cost him nothing and involve bans and penalty taxes. Our health service is a joke.

George Orwell would be in his element in Ireland 2004.
