Locals unaware of caustic soda spill

IT is criminal that neither ADM nor the EPA notified the people of Monkstown Bay or Monkstown Bay Sailing Club of the 252-tonne spillage of caustic soda into the bay on weekend of July 2/3, when the club was commencing its annual four-week sailing course on the Monday (July 4).

The spillage was into the same waters where approximately 100 children were sailing and swimming.
