Opposition is pure as slush

I FIND it puke-making to hear the opposition expressing its ‘shock/horror’ at the recent ‘adjustments’ in the budget estimates.

Why didn’t they set an example by refusing their pay increase in 2001, amounting to between £3,400 and £4,500 a year!

At least Tallulah Bankhead, (US actress, 1903-‘68), when explaining her lifestyle, is said to have replied: “Me? I’m as pure as the driven slush!”
