Health shambles

MARY HARNEY’S performance as Health Minister has, so far, been very poor.

Medical card reforms have been weak, leaving families on low to average incomes to pay the full cost of doctor visits and drugs.

The same income groups are also being hammered with the proposed raising of the income limit (yet again) for the drugs repayment scheme. We must now have the worst health service for primary care in Europe. Little wonder that the hospitals are overflowing.
