I REFER to Dan Buckley’s report on the sorry state of St Paul’s Church, Paul Street, Cork (Irish Examiner, July 1).

The state of St Paul’s

Saint Paul’s, built in 1763, was one of the most distinguished places of worship in the city until its deconsecration in 1950.

Surely it’s possible to renew the script on the tombstones, clean the old graveyard and restore some of the civic pride which has vanished from our city.
