Jeffrey Donaldson is right to object

I HOPE your correspondent Earwicker (Irish Examiner, July 26), was being ironic when remarking that the sale of a souvenir depicting ‘A sniper at work’ — a person who was responsible for the deaths of 12 other people in the early 1990s — is in the best of taste.

Jeffrey Donaldson is right to object

In response to this kind of merchandise, Jeffrey Donaldson, the MP for Lagan Valley, cautioned last week: “Whether it’s the PUP or Sinn Fein, this kind of activity should cease... Such actions could be seen as inciting hatred.”

As a War Resisters International Broken Rifle supporter, I fully agree with him.
