We must act on threat from phones and masts

THE Irish Doctors’ Environmental Association supports the views of those who are concerned at the possible adverse health impact of radiation from mobile phones and masts.

There are many reports in medical literature of the impact of this type of radiation on cellular function at current allowable levels. We do not yet know the full significance of these.

In the meantime, surely it is not too much to ask that we protect our most vulnerable children and people who are sensitive to this type of radiation. We must desist from putting masts in areas of high population and also reduce children's use of mobile phones.
