Jumping the gun

I ASSUME Denis Hurley (Irish Examiner letters, January 17) also believed the PSNI chief constable when he accused Sinn Féin of operating a spy ring at Stormont and of involvement in the Castlereagh break-in.

Both of these allegations have proven to be false.

I suspect it suits Mr Hurley to believe Hugh Orde’s allegations about the IRA’s involvement in the Belfast bank robbery as it gives him a stick with which to beat Sinn Féin.
