PAYE ‘suckers’

FARMERS got very bad advice from the banks when they wanted to invest their savings.

They were told to invest in offshore accounts and then they were told “you will never be found out”.

I was pleased that Seán Ó Mochóir (Irish Examiner letters, December 30) described the PAYE sector as “suckers” because, as it happens, they are very good at it. They sucked Aer Lingus, Dairygold and lots of other companies dry, and when these companies had to restructure they were rewarded again for their extortion with generous redundancy payments.
