They have no place for our Christian heritage

I SHALL never cease to be amazed at the priorities of our TDs — the furore that can be raised over so many issues in the Dáil and all over the country, but no voice is heard to protest against what our Government and MEPs are doing in our name, in the EU.
They have no place for our Christian heritage

Why are we agreeing to the exclusion of God and all mention of the great European Christian heritage from the EU constitution, and why is the Tánaiste, Mary Harney, going to speak up and vote in support of the legalising and funding of embryo research?

The answer is ‘embarrassment,’ and you and I thought that peer pressure belonged to the realm of the classroom.

The Tanáiste knows that destroying the human embryo is killing the unborn human being, and this is still contrary to our constitution.

We now see clearly the reason for the choice of words in our last referendum, to which no pro-life person could in conscience agree. The responsibility for the wording was given to Michael McDowell, another PD. That party has never concealed its pro-choice stance on abortion. How many PDs are there in the Dáil? Isn’t it just another instance of the tail wagging the dog? Well, Ms Harney’s mission to Europe is just one wag to far!
