Anti-abortion harangue was deeply offensive

CA FARRELLY’S harangue (Irish Examiner letters, Jan 5) against those who disagree with him on abortion is one of the most appalling displays of intolerance that has yet appeared on the pages of your newspaper.

Repeatedly, and in very stark terms, he characterises the views of all those who disagree with him on the ethical status of foetuses as being morally equivalent to the Nazis.

As someone who believes that human life cannot be said simply and conclusively to begin at conception and who finds some merit in many of the arguments defending the right of women to control their own bodies, I find this language deeply offensive.
