Personal injury legal fees: it just doesn’t figure

MARY Dundon’s article on the Personal Injury Assessment Board (Irish Examiner, Oct 9) referred to legal fees for personal injury actions being 440 million last year.

This figure from the Irish Insurance Federation (IIF) has been shown to be a gross exaggeration.

The IIF, when challenged about the figure, were unable to give the basis upon which it was calculated.
