No vote for Sinn Féin without clarity on IRA

BEING from the South of the country I will, with difficulty, refrain from making a judgment about David Trimble and many of his colleagues in the present sad impasse.
No vote for Sinn Féin without clarity on IRA

However, I may in the future be presented with a choice as to whether I should vote for Gerry Adams or some of his Sinn Féin colleagues and I feel this allows me to make a few observations.

Gerry Adams was seen on television over the Easter period addressing people in paramilitary uniform and could be heard frequently referring to "the army" in most brotherly terms. He has consistently claimed over the years that he is not and was never a member of the IRA.

Until such time as Mr Adams has the wisdom and courage to come out and confirm that the war is over and "the army" is disbanded, I for one will never vote for anyone in Sinn Féin.

We saw a light at the end of the tunnel about three weeks ago, but Sinn Féin/ IRA have now built another three or four months of tunnel not a good way to win support in next year's local elections.
