Basing power on size is dangerous
He spoke of sitting in a Nazi concentration camp during World War II with a small gathering of like-minded individuals, conceiving of a plan to try to ensure such a horror would never befall Europe again. The plan was an illogical one to bind the fates of the disparate nations together in equality, and not on a logical basis, where size and population would confer increased power.
They could see that basing power on size was the beginning of a process which leads eventually to bullying, cohesion and domination. Only where our good is inextricably linked to the good of our neighbour can we hope to contain our greed. Vote No.
