Guesthouses and B&Bs marketing themselves

NEW data from Fáilte Ireland has revealed that the number of approved B&Bs fell by almost 25% in the past four years. This was reported in most media as a dramatic decline in a key sector of our tourist industry.

This is not the entire case. Many guesthouse and B&B-owners are delisting from the register of a Dublin-centric and increasingly out of touch national tourism organisation and instead spending the hard-earned registration fee on realistic regional marketing and online information services.
