Missing the point

JOSEPH Griffin (Irish Examiner letters, April 29) declared that it was sickening that the UN and EU did not stand up to Al-Qaida and Osama bin Laden, and described the US and the UK as “strong and just” for doing so.

Unfortunately, like Bush and Blair, he completely overlooked the fact that they have precisely not done that; instead they went after the oil and Saddam, two completely separate entities totally unconnected to the terrorist attacks on New York and Madrid. The UN has been proven 100% correct.
