FG should speak for the ordinary citizen

IN RECENT weeks there have been calls from a number of commentators for Fine Gael to move to the right of the political spectrum.

I can only assume that these individuals are not paying attention to the two right-wing parties currently in government.

Right-wing parties in power can be characterised by two distinct postures the championing of powerful, wealthy sectional interests over the common good and a loathing of the 'interference' of the citizen in the workings of the state.
