Smoked out of it

MANY asthmatics cannot socialise because of smoking. I have asthma and passive smoking is a trigger, so I rarely go out. I was at a wedding last year and had to go to the hotel foyer to use my inhaler because of the smoking.

I saw another woman there also gasping. She was using her inhaler while two women smoked right next to her. This should not have to be accepted by anyone with asthma. The theory that smoking is OK at one side of a room is nonsense as I know only too well.

I appeal to all asthmatics to voice their support for the total smoking ban in January and I hope that all hotel and restaurant owners fully co-operate in its enforcement.
