Story of the forts

I WOULD like to hear from any of your readers who may have information about Irish coastal forts.

Story of the forts

I am especially interested in the relations between local people and the British garrison which manned the forts up until their handover to the Irish army in July 1938; the new occupants up to the closure of the forts circa 1956, including the Emergency years, and the annual practice shoots.

I would like also to hear from any survivors of the men who manned the guns. The loan of photographs would be appreciated. These would be copied and swiftly returned.
