Honour the novelist

KEVIN 0’BYRNE’S letter (Irish Examiner, August 10) on the lack of recognition in her birthplace of Cork-born Ethel Lilian Voynich, novelist and daughter of George Boole and Mary Everest, is to be welcomed.

She was born in I864 and died in New York in 1960. As a plaque graces the house in Grenville Place (near the Mercy Hospital) where George Boole lived, perhaps a similar commemorative plaque can be dedicated to her memory.
