Gay couples often more committed
How dare he patronise them by saying it’s lust, not love.
They’re probably more committed than many straight people. Take Britney Spears and Elton John. Britney is now in her second marriage at the age of 24, having previously been married for two days. Elton, meanwhile, has married his partner of over a decade. Who shows the greater commitment?
The use of religious argument against such relationships is ridiculous. The Catholic Church will never be used to marry gay people, who wouldn’t want to wed there anyway. In a world of violence and war it’s sad that people find it hard to embrace the concept of two people loving each other so much they make the ultimate commitment.
Gay people are just as entitled to love as straight people. To dismiss their feelings as lust is just wrong.
I take exception to such remarks as I have a few friends in truly loving gay relationships. It is insulting to imply that because they can’t have children naturally, they aren’t capable of love.
