New Bond title - The name's Shatterhand

Social media users have reacted with shock at rumours that the 25th James Bond film has been given the working name Shatterhand.

The title is understood to refer to an alias used by 007’s nemesis, Ernst Stavro Blofeld, who calls himself Dr Guntram Shatterhand in the 1964 novel You Only Live Twice.

We have no spy available to reveal the plot of the new movie but, presumably, it will follow the same arc as the others: Handsome, hard-drinking, womanising British secret agent, who plays a mean hand of poker, is dispatched to deepest

Africa, Asia, South America, Europe, the moon, and beyond, to defeat a messianic monster bent on destroying Mother Earth. He does so with charm, a Saville Row suit, handmade brogues, and a licence to kill in an Aston Martin DB5.

So, what are the Bond aficionados worried about? After all, we have had Moonraker, Octopussy, Die Another Day, Thunderball, and Quantum of Solace. They need to chill out with a dry martini — shaken, not stirred. Perhaps ‘Get Over It’ wouldn’t be a bad alternative as a working title.
