Cancer risk - Weight key to disease prevention

As this is Men’s Cancer Action Week, it is important that Irish men should recognise they are at a particular risk of cancer due to their diet.

Two-thirds are overweight, and almost half of them are in denial, refusing to recognise that they are too heavy.

This is dangerous because their eating habits are actually increasing the risk of various cancers. While 61% of Irish men recognise that being overweight increases the risk of cancer, only 18% make any attempt to keep their weight down.
