Labour TD Eric Byrne yesterday said he stood by his remarks to Sinn Féin’s Jonathan O’Brien, when he asked the Cork North Central TD why his family did not take in his homeless brother.

Mr O’Brien used the opportunity provided by Mr Byrne’s elimination from the Dublin South Central constituency to remind him of the heckle over the weekend.
