The headline figures, and the assumptions used to arrive at certain percentages, were novel and based on a different method of analysing the cost of living.

But the ESRI has warned long before this that when non-cash benefits of welfare-reliant lifestyles are factored in, the attractiveness of working for lower salaries diminishes.
