A perusal of the media this week might conclude that the forthcoming election will be fought on dynamic pricing and the price of bicycle sheds.

The stories about the official ticket gouging for Oasis gigs and a silly but minor waste of public money on a bicycle shed were given way too much space. Both are indicative of a culture in which outrage drives interest in what is going on in the world.
