Starting off in Bangladesh on January 7, the world will see votes held in more than 50 countries from Taiwan, to El Salvador, Pakistan, Portugal, Indonesia, Mozambique, Uruguay, and Palau. To a greater or lesser extent, all will add to what is set to be a geopolitically tumultuous 12 months.
