Ownership of Irish Water must be for the people

What sort of democracy is it that allows a government which is elected for a finite period (five years or less) to sell off a vital natural resource to a private individual or company whose only reason for being is to make a profit for its board and shareholders?
Ownership of Irish Water must be for the people

This is not only an affront to democracy but runs absolutely contrary to the common good. Ownership of Irish Water by the people must be established and protected by the Constitution for future generations.

It does not augur well for the nation that the two political parties now negotiating for government are parties whose history has clearly demonstrated that they are parties for the banks, vested interests and the so-called elite in Irish society and whose interests have been given priority over the welfare of the people.
