Gandhi slogan on animals worth recalling

Like all animals lovers I found the recent images of the abused bulldog, Baby, and the behaviour of her cruel owners distressing to read.

It is difficult to understand the mentality of people who appear to get some kind of bizarre enjoyment inflicting pain on animals. Yet such barbaric behaviour generally goes unpunished.

Numerous studies have shown that serial abusers often start out first by abusing animals. While this incident occurred in the UK we in Ireland are no strangers when it comes to animal cruelty.
