RTÉ’s grammar mistakes setting a bad example

For a moment, I was almost in sympathy with RTÉ’s line-up of top-earners, whose annual stipends are now less than a quarter of a million euros in some hard-pressed cases.

However, in the same 6pm news bulletin that announced this, I was also informed that young students around Ireland had, that day, recited updated 1916 proclamations, which “they had wrote themselves” (quote).

One hopes these impressionable students will not come to rely on some of RTÉ’s luminaries for their grammar.
