We should change how we elect a Taoiseach

How do we fill a vacancy when a TD dies or resigns?
We should change how we elect a Taoiseach

Voters have a ballot paper with all candidates listed and they choose . Fear your first choice may not win ? Then simply vote two for your next preference. And three if you so wish. The 158 TDs can do the same when the meet on March 10 — the Constitution does not lay down how they vote to elect a Taoiseach. The procedure can be changed by a vote of the newly-elected TDs, as soon as they elect a Ceann Comhairle — who will be chosen, for the first time, by a ballot paper such as voters use in any election. This is a straightforward way to elect the next Taoiseach.
