Enda needs to speak out about refugee crisis

The Three Wise Men arrived yesterday: Gaspar, Balthazar, and Melchior.

Enda needs to speak out about refugee crisis

Dignatories from the East, Eliot reminds us, a cold coming they had of it. They came to pay homage. They were well down the pecking order, beaten to it by, amongst others, poor shepherds who owned, neither the land, nor even the sheep, they tended. These wise men, or Magi, step late into an epic drama; the greatest story ever told.

As these visitors arrive, look closely, look into the shadows behind them. There he is, another King, power hungry, worried about his position, he presented as a warm host, but behind this, his paranoia made him dangerous. This is Herod.

The infant at the centre of the story is homeless, no room at the inn.

Homeless, and then a refugee.

A refugee, fleeing terror.

Where is our Taoiseach in all this?

As a leader of a modern democracy with a strong Christian heritage, where is he in the story?

Cameron, Obama, our own President, all address these issues but not Enda Kenny. Why?

Is it too close to the election? Is he afraid of offending?
