Judicial system needs to catch up with the times
In the sixteenth century apparently, the wig was an essential epitome of judicial sartorial elegance, decorum, and hubris, also very useful for covering up dandruff, lice, and the odd bald spot.
Things haven’t changed much in the meantime.
God forbid that the Courts Service would ever change its archaic, quaint, and wasteful modus operandi and be as efficient and as well run as Ryanair.
Reductio ad absurdum.
