Irish Water a mess because of its architects
Unfortunately for Joe, his contempt-laden phrasing misses his intended target. The ones who have made a political cause of it are those who — in typical PR spin — pretend that those who object ‘want everything for free’ while simultaneously handing over €480,000,000 of our hard-earned cash to the outfit.
To make matters worse, they spouted this while claiming that Irish Water would be ‘self-sustainable’ at ‘an average cost per family of €400 per house’, which was firmly debunked by Eurostat.
Those are the ones who have made a political football of it.
Before putting words on paper, maybe Joe should leave his obvious disdain for ordinary people out of the equation, particularly since he is on record objecting to generalisations and the ‘unfair’ — in his view — portrayal of developers as pariahs and gamblers.
Double standards never convinced anyone, and the Irish people have had enough of this from the powers that be.
Thankfully, the article states that Joe’s views are personal, as we couldn’t have financial bodies and advisors pushing an agenda — otherwise this letter would contain a whole other array of facts regarding the unfairness of some Irish people ‘paying other people’s bills’.
