Jihadists are failing to learn from the past

Matthew Ward tells us recently in the Irish Examiner (Letters, November 21) that the tap roots of Isis/Wahhabi terrorism are in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
Jihadists are failing to learn from the past

If that is the case we must spread the word to the coalition as that would be the place to get to the core of the world’s terrorism problem.

To say that today’s terrorism mirrors the Christian cruelties of the past only means that certain portions of civilization haven’t after, at least 100 years, got the message. One era of fanaticism does not balance or excuse another.

The other questions, I raised were: Where are the Muslim charities? What are the peaceful and many very wealthy Muslims doing to help their brothers in trouble?

And once again why are so many refugees coming to us?

Is it because we live by the rule “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you”.

If this is so, let us acknowledge that precept, where we learned it and teach it to all across international politics.
