Housing market is not structured for Joe Soap

Since September 2013, the consumer price index for private rents has risen by 20%. By comparison, the CPI for local authority rents and the index for most other items have both tended to be steady.

It makes a mockery of economic cycles to maintain that rent reviews must always be “upward only”.

Which party’s election manifesto will promise to hold a referendum to amend the constitution to control the dark forces of the private market for the common good of all citizens?

The property market killed the Celtic Tiger. Is history repeating itself?

Are the property oligarchs becoming ever richer and fatter while the proletariat get poorer and deeper in debt?

The basis of a republic is equality. Will we have to listen to our modern politicians mouthing pious platitudes while they go through the motions of remembering 1916?
