Jim McGuinness’s mother knew how to motivate him

Reading Jim McGuinness’s new book ‘Until Victory Always’, I found his piece on his adult education journey to be of great interest.

Jim McGuinness’s mother knew how to motivate him

Especially when it came to his Mum, a lovely lady indeed.

When he was hesitant to start and lacking in confidence, his Mum put it simply;

“You know, Jim, there’s boys up the town there and they’re walking about doing nothing. By the time you’ve finished that course and are out on the other side, they’ll still be walking about doing nothing”.

And that rang true for Jim. At the age of 22 he was back in a classroom. And the rest is history. Wow, was Mum right or what?
