Concerns about Whitegate oil refinery

The following are quotations from articles published in the recent past: “Deep Kinsale could contain 2.3bn barrels of oil. Fastnet Oil says independent assessment established presence of significant potential”.

Here’s another: “Shares in Providence up 10 per cent on Barryroe discussions. Surveys conducted on Barryroe in 2012 indicated the field could yield 778 million barrels of oil”.

Both of these fields are convenient to Whitegate. Are we missing something here?

We will not benefit from such finds however as due to recklessly-negligent agreements, successive governments have signed our energy fields over to the oil industry lock, stock and barrel.

Irish control of those fields is vitally important if the global oil barons, at some time in the future, should decide to halt production of fossil fuels then we would have possible access to these fields.
