Coursing candidate missed his chance

When yet another of Mr John Fitzgerald’s very many letters was once more published in your newspaper, it was difficult not to conclude what an excellent single-issue election candidate he would make.

There is not a topic, from lobsters to gay marriage, that he has not distilled into the single issue of coursing.

What a shame he missed the opportunity of running in the recent bye-election in his own constituency. I suspect, though, that he might have a higher success rate at letter-writing.
