‘No’ campaigners should walk hand in hand with someone of same sex
These feelings actually emanate from being on the wrong side both of history and facts.
I’ve had the great fortune to have had the opportunity to canvas parts of Cork city and county recently and to have been greeted at doors by genuine enthusiasm that contrasts with the lack of compassion and openness that is the hallmark of those who now see themselves as victims.
I would ask the bravest of No campaigners to walk down the main street of any town or city in Ireland holding the hand of a member of their own sex and perhaps in that they may gather a proper perspective on what actually is victimisation and menace.
It is my hope and belief that both decency and democracy will prevail on May 22 and those who have been excluded from one of life’s great institutions will have the opportunity to share in it with the spirit of love with which they are so bravely fighting for it.
