FF water policy ignores those who can’t pay

Of equal concern is the clear intention that Fianna Fáil would introduce these additional water taxes without any “ability-to-pay” protection. As with Fine Gael and Labour, the current Fianna Fáil leadership has clearly no problem with upward distribution of resources – not to mention the creation of a situation that will see the vulnerable, most particularly children and pensioners- forced to ration water usage.

It is precisely this type of taxation policy that widens the socio-economic gap which is expanding at a dangerous rate.
