Cork can learn from Kerry’s cycle routes

Fair play to Kerry County Council for their newly planned walk-and-cycle path. It will attract more tourists to what is a beautiful county.

Cork can learn from Kerry’s cycle routes

But what about Cork? What are the Cork City and Cork County Councils doing to install such amenities for visitors and locals alike?

The Lee Road is a lovely walk or cycle, but, when you get to the end of it, it’s just a one-option turnaround.

Wouldn’t it be great to walk or cycle in safety to Coachford, for example?

That would be a beautiful route, with the magnificent River Lee by your side.

Why not take the example of Inchydoney, just voted Ireland’s best beach? Walking to Clonakility is not so easy!

This is an idyllic concept that our Kerry neighbours have grasped.

Time to wake up the council!
