Extradition application: Drumm must face justice here

The State has reportedly begun the process of seeking to extradite David Drumm from the US to face criminal charges here.

It is to be hoped the US authorities will look favourably on the application and that his extradition will be accomplished expeditiously, not only to ensure that justice is done but that it is seen to be done.

It is also hugely important that he face the music here if the Irish banking system is to recover at least some of the credibility it lost during the madness of the Celtic Tiger years.
