Act of brazen chicanery

Unbelievably, Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan claims as a victory the saving of €750 million in interest when he hands €9 billion of our money over to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

This was money that the government was forced to borrow to help cover the illegitimately nationalised debts of private speculators.

Have we finally witnessed the death of irony when almost nobody asks why ordinary people are paying any of this debt in the first place?

Or might this latest act of brazen chicanery finally provoke the long overdue realisation that the emperor indeed has no clothes?”
