Ireland: best country in the world to be a banker

Did I imagine the item on RTÉ 6.1 News when Enda Kenny stated: “Ireland is the best country in the world to raise a family” and “Ireland is the best country in the world to grow old”.

If he did make those comments then it confirms without a doubt that Enda Kenny has no concept of what life is like in this country for either young people trying to raise a family or people growing old.

Perhaps Enda meant “Ireland is the best country in the world to raise a family if you are a politician, a banker, builder or developer”.

Having returned to Ireland after more that 30 years abroad I have been shocked and horrified at what I have found.

The people have suffered enough from incompetence, inefficiency and corruption.

Let us hope the politicians will wake up to this before people will feel obliged to act as this will not be in anybody’s interest.

I hope other readers will respond to the comments of the Taoiseach.
