Airline crews have lost run of themselves

The whole recent ebola ‘storm in a coffee cup’ incident underlines the absurdity of the world since September 11, 2001.

Airline crews in particular seem affected with many of them turning into overbearing martinets at the slightest ‘provocation’.

Along with a cranking up of levels of fear, anti-terrorism strategies seem to be having the opposite effect of what they were supposed to. Where aircrews are concerned it seems to have become an excuse for staff to transfer frustrations onto passengers. I would suggest crews take their gripes up with their bosses and try and remember passengers are the reason they have jobs in the first place.

The judge’s comments on the ebola cup incident further underlines this overreaction with him saying he “cannot imagine anything more serious” than writing ‘attenzione ebola’ on the lid of a coffee cup. Here are a few things more serious: attacking a fellow passenger, planting a bomb on a plane, trying to hijack the plane.

So what we are left with is an Italian businessman who flew here to create jobs, now expected to be grateful for only being €2,500 out-of-pocket.
