Let’s put the feet back into Gaelic Football

If the GAA are going to save football from becoming ‘extinct’, as Pat O’Connor says, they are going to have to be much more adventurous.
The hand pass, the fisting of the ball and the solo run have to go. All ball transfers should be by foot. The three step rule has to be enforced. The physical contact rules in relation to the person in possession have to be strict. Ball movement would be over longer distances and massing players round the person in possession would be overcome. That would make the basic skills of fielding and kicking fundamental.
