RTÉ programmes promote head-bangers in society

I have just witnessed another head-banging programme on RTÉ Two — Drunk.

RTÉ programmes promote head-bangers in society

Where in heaven’s name are we going to? Will no one shout stop? I presume the drive for finance from alcohol ads is playing a part in the idea behind this programme.

Last week on RTÉ ONE we had a programme Women On The Inside. Are we supposed to have sympathy for people who are in prison because of their own actions? Should our media not be presenting programmes showing people how to behave properly and how to show respect to others and their property?

As things have been going, I can see standards are in a downward spiral.

Maybe the next few items the programmers can dream up will be things like ‘The benefits of smoking and drugs’ , ‘How to antagonise your neighbourhood’ , ‘How to beat up an old person’ or maybe ‘How to carry out a successful robbery’.

Why not? No one in authority seems to care.
